  18. Hallo, I'd be very grateful if I could get help on how to turn off the 
  19. speaker/ or minimize the noice that comes from the speakers when 
  20. connecting to a server by modem.  I've looked at the modem software and 
  21. turned the speakers off.  Yes, the speaker doesn't work when I'm using 
  22. the software's terminal and dialing out.  All these is done under 
  23. windows.  However, when I switch to dos and dial through the kermit 
  24. software, the noice just wakes my family up.  Any help?.  Sincerely,

  30.     I would love to know how to use the Tek4010 mode for other
  31. purposes.  However, my University computing services help desk
  32. suggested that 
  33.     1.  Tektronix terminal are a deadend technology. (I'm probably
  34. paraphrasing grossly.)
  35.     2.  Tek emulators do not display useful graphical formats
  36. likes gif , jpg, postscript, etc.
  37.     3.  I should set up a PPP connection with the University servers.
  38.  
  39.     Can anyone suggest their favorite uses for the tek emulator
  40. (which are not acheivable with the vt100 emulator)?

  42.     I just read "Using MS-DOS Kermit" by C. Gianone, 1st edition,
  43. which I found to be a beautiful book, but it does not cover this point
  44. too deeply.
